2013 Goal #1- Accomplished!

Everything that needed to be hung on the walls upstairs is up!!

Bathroom:

 95% done in here...

Close-up they remind me of the pattern blocks from Tom & Molly's house...love those!!

Dining Room:

Added and rearranged a few things.  Fixed the broken glass in the black and red print from Grandmother.  Printed a few of J's crazy hiking photos and moved the Jermaine Rodger's/Deftones bunnies.

Maybe next time I'll use a real camera instead of my Iphone? ;)

Great Lakes print and my Menominee/Lake Michigan lighthouse photo are a good match!

Living Room:
After a quick project to fix a decision that has been bugging me for years...

I can love this print of Howard Olson's again!  Reminds me so much of WI fall/winter skies.

I also really like it with my new lamp and shade!  Still sure the blue couch is still moving downstairs though...

I think the watercolors are my current favorite art in the whole house.  Love opening the door to this view!

 Kitchen:
Love the cookbook shelf.  Hate to have cluttered counters!

Close up-  Thanks Haley! I got J the CO version to match the WI print.

Spring in January

It's been in the 60's the past few days.

We could have snow and teens Tuesday.

Typical winter in Colorado Springs.

This shelving is the major dumping zone when walking in the door.  Even cleaned off, it is LEANING and going to tip over.  I want to drill it to the wall, but... carpet needs to come out, floors freshened up, etc.

Would it be really annoying to drill it in now and then take out when we pull the carpet out, then reattach it to the wall?

Hi Kitty/FDR/Mr. McKittelsworth/Frank

Our neighbors are getting their trees trimmed!! Yeah!! It looks so good and will cut down on sticks littering our yard by 1000%.  Jon will have so much less work ;)

I will post photos.  It looks great!

STUCK...

I'm ready to get back in the swing of things, but I'm stuck.  I am ready to cover the walls in the living room but I'm not sure how I'm going to blend the different styles.

Here's what I have:

Can't change anything on this one.

Could change the mat and need to change the frame.

I would call the overall style I'm going for as mid-century/natural.  We're going with bold accents throughout the house and a neutral base.
Here's what I like:

Hello...testing...is there anyone out there??

We've been crazy busy painting, working, being sick (it's been a bad year), and getting ready for a much needed break.  Here are some photos of what else has been keeping us busy.

OUR CHRISTMAS TREE!

Deer crossing right in front of our car on our way to Pike National Forest

Mission Accomplished!

Chino & Kitty love to hang out under the tree and drink kitty gin (pine tree water).

The tree is up and notice...

WE FINALLY PAINTED THE LIVING ROOM!

The tree in all its glory.

Even though we're heading back to Wisconsin for some time with our families, we have to go on our annual hike in the forest to find our tree.  Unfortunately, I wore the worst boots and ended up laying in the snow for most of the morning.

Next step: DINING ROOM...
