Back Entry Inspiration- Next Big Project?

We're going to add bead board throughout the entire area, painted the interior wall color and add it to the ceiling in a natural finish.  Add a ton of hooks and storage.



Finally hang up our big CO map, J's 14er's poster and snowboards.

Pull out that nasty blue carpet, maybe add some tile and refinish the stairs.  Definitely adding a runner of some sort.

We also need to build in around the stairs to the basement so that any children that come to our house don't fall through the giant opening (right, Ellen?) ;)  We need shoe storage too, so maybe something like this?



Although, I guess a child could climb to the top and jump off, but I think that seems like another problem entirely.  We could add some barbwire at the top or an electric fence that would zap them back up like those factories in China (allegedly)?  Mom's- what do you think ;)

This project is on hold until we:

Finish the living room furniture rotation.

Install the back splash in the kitchen.

Finish the electric in the dining room.

Exciting things to come for Ivywild!

This just makes me smile!  Lots of activity on the Ivywild Neighborhood Facebook page.  Feeling very fortunate to have other residents that want to connect and build community in Ivywild, then again, that's why we chose to live here!

(long overdue... we've been busy, working on the house :) Jon finished the insulation, winterized the yard, made a cat door for the cats to escape from Zebulon (in the basement empty room), cleaned the carpets and we're starting on the back room!!  I bought the curtains i posted previously and hopefully will hang them some time before spring :) Also, we've been cooking Turkey day classics, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and seeds, carving pumpkins... with only two, we eat only mashed potatoes for dinner :)

We had Soooo much fun at Jana's beautiful wedding (held at a totally Texas ranchette, stone buildings and twinkle-y lights...) Rounding out our Labor Day weekend with Whataburger, hanging out by the pool, Lonestar & family!  Zeb came with and he was pretty great the entire trip.  He learned about water and swimming pools and loved his aunt Jesse!

We are so lucky that we have family that chooses to spend their vacation time coming to visit us in Colorado!! We have visitors coming in a few days.  I'm excited to show them around our new neighborhood, home and work on some fun projects.

Wanted: Bedroom Curtains

I want these curtains, I need these curtains, I would love these curtains in a bold red and creamy white (too much to ask...)

I'm ready to get back in the swing of things, but I'm stuck.  I am ready to cover the walls in the living room but I'm not sure how I'm going to blend the different styles.

Here's what I have:

Can't change anything on this one.

Could change the mat and need to change the frame.

I would call the overall style I'm going for as mid-century/natural.  We're going with bold accents throughout the house and a neutral base.

Sick, sick, sick... and an awesome headboard!

Since I was sick all weekend, including being in bed all day Thursday and Friday, I have made little progress on the painting.  I'm working on a list to motivate us to get some real progress done before we leave for our Christmas trip to Wisconsin. 

In the meantime, here's a headboard that I'm dying to add to my bedroom!  I need to get some color going so Jon will quit asking why everything is white :)
